Artist preparing for her biggest exhibition yet

Sue, a member of Shoreham Gallery, in Brunswick Road, will be showing her hand-made original linocut work for three weeks.

She has a fine art degree and has been selling her work through galleries since 2011, including original linocut work, prints and cards at Shoreham Gallery.

“I am continually promoting my work and looking for new opportunities to exhibit,” she explained.

The exhibition will be at The Hawth in Crawley from February 23 to March 14.

Sue added: “I am thrilled to be showcasing my work at The Hawth.

“This is my largest installation to date, and to be exhibiting alongside productions of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Moscow City Ballet is an added bonus.”

Sue, who lives in Hassocks and works at her studio in the Sussex countryside, is also applying to be part of an exhibition on Worthing Pier.

Using a combination of photography and sketching, as well as drawing on her own personal experiences and memories, Sue creates images which are mainly from Sussex.

Her work is a type of visual diary and usually begins with a photograph. She loves using colour and producing work that creates, or evokes, happy memories.

Sue said her linocut work was usually produced in limited editions of 20 and each was an original piece of artwork, not a reproduction.

“Although it is part of a limited edition, each work has been hand pulled, without the use of a printing press, and is therefore individual,” she explained.

Her original limited edition prints will be on view over two floors of the theatre foyer, in Hawth Avenue, and the exhibition will be open daily from 10am.
