Arun sides go in to bat for charity

OFFICERS and councillors will face each other in a charity cricket match hosted by Arun District Council chairman, councillor Terence Chapman.

He is holding the game in aid of his chosen charity for the year, Home-Start Arun, which supports parents of young families.

The match will take place on the Arundel Cricket Club ground, Chichester Road, Arundel, on Sunday, September 1.

Tickets, price £5 (children under-16, £2), will include admission to the ground, afternoon tea, free parking and a souvenir programme.

There will also be a ‘Go Batty for Charity’ raffle, and a cash bar.

The event is ticket only, on a first come, first served basis. They can be reserved by email to [email protected]

Cllr Chapman said: “I am proud to be raising funds for Home-Start Arun – family is so important.

“I want to raise as much money as I can for them.”
