Some more of this week’s vacancies: Age UK is looking for a number of volunteers, including a mini-bus driver, to collect and drop off older people at their homes or day centres, and provide transport during shopping trips or outings.

The charity organises weekly visits to older people in the community, and needs a good neighbours volunteer, to offer conversation over a cup of tea to lonely, vulnerable and isolated people.

A volunteer is also needed at Age UK’s information and advice service, to interview clients over the telephone and in person, then research the enquiry and signpost people to any further help. The volunteer would also offer help with tasks such as writing letters.

The Villages (Yapton) Children and Family Centre also needs a few new helpers, such as a reception assistant to welcome visitors, make sure they sign in, answer the phones and respond to queries.

Help to welcome families to sessions, as well as help setting up, clearing up and working with those at sessions, is also needed from a volunteer group assistant, and a volunteer is also needed to run the toy library, maintain accurate records and answer family questions about toys and play.
