On Sunday (May 18) members of Arundel Agenda 21 set out a stall in High Street and Jubilee Garden showing plans to improve cycle routes in the town and surrounding areas.

Kay Wagland, chairman of Arundel Agenda 21, said: “Arundel badly needs cycle facilities for people living and working here to get around easily and quickly by bike and for children to cycle to school.

“It is currently very difficult without cycle paths or bike parking. Lots of people have come up with some good ideas today and we’ll take them all to West Sussex County Council.”

Improved paths are planned from Arundel station to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, as well from Ford station.

A 20mph zone for the town is also proposed.

Councillor Angela Standing of Arundel Town Council welcomed the plans, saying Arundel had ‘great potential’.
