Arundel teenager proves he is a genius

The 13-year-old sat the official Mensa test in Worthing and has just heard he scored 159 out of 161, putting his IQ at the level of ‘genius’.

Proud mum Kylee Bell said: “He is just a regular kid from a single parent family at a state school in West Sussex.

“I had always known he was different and very bright, but this is off-the-scale clever.

“You need to be in the top two per cent of the population to get into Mensa. I have been told his score actually puts him in the top 0.1 per cent.

“He is one point off Stephen Hawking and Einstein, and has a higher IQ than Carol Vorderman.”

Jayden is a student at Ormiston Six Villages Academy in Westergate.

Principal Sean O’Neill said: “This is an exceptional achievement and all of Jay’s teachers are thrilled for him. He is a gifted student who laps up challenges and it is a privilege to be able to guide and shape his intelligence.”

Jayden was invited to sit the official test after scoring highly in the online Mensa IQ test at school.

He said: “I knew I had done quite well in the test as I managed to answer all of the questions but I had no idea I had scored so highly until the results came back in the post.

“I hope to get all As and A*s in my GCSEs and I definitely want to go on to university.”
