A*s galore for Angmering GCSE students, but slight dip overall

Five or more A* to C grades, including English and maths, were achieved by 56 per cent of students, compared with 59 per cent in 2012, a record year.

David Brixey, head teacher said: “Yet again, our students have achieved very well in their GCSEs. This year group have worked hard in their time at Angmering and have made a strong contribution to the wider life of the school.”

Matt Wilkinson, 16, from Angmering, gained eight A*s, in biology, physics, chemistry, maths, English language, geography, history, German and religious studies, and As in PE and German.

“I’m very pleased – I worked very hard for this,” said Matt, who is staying at Angmering to study maths and the three sciences at A-level.

A*s in geography, English literature, IT and art/design, As in English language, another IT award and science, and Bs in maths and drama were gained by Milly Nolan.

She will also return to Angmering’s sixth-form next month. “They do the courses I want to do here and the teachers are really good,” said Milly, 16, from Rustington.
