Asda donate to two local good causes with scheme

Asda supermarket, in St Leonards, has donated money to two local charities through its Green Token scheme.

The scheme sees local shoppers deciding which cause to give to by donating plastic tokens, given by the store with money spent.

The tokens are then turned into cash donations by Asda.

The winner, from last November and December’s donations was the Catcall charity, which was given £200. Catcall would like to thank all customers who voted for them.

Runner up was the Xtrax Centre, which was awarded £50 and also passes thanks on to customers.

Cat Call Hastings, known today as Cat Call Organisation UK, was an idea dreamed up and implemented by Dorothy Jason in November 1983. The charity operates a Lost and Found Cat Register.

Xtrax provides a street level drop-in service and support for young people aged 16-25,. It helps young people overcome problems including homelessness.
