A Macmillan Coffee Morning will be held at the Pavilion, Ashburnham, on Saturday September 28, 10am - 12pm. The usual delicious cakes, scones, etc., along with really good coffee, and speciality teas will be available. Ashburnham Chapel are having Harvest Festival Celebrations on October 5-6. They invite you to go and view their harvest decorations between 11am and 2.30pm. On Sunday 6, they will be holding a tea at 5pm followed by by a Harvest Service at 6.30pm. For further information, please contact Fay Ramsden on 07860 113413.

Harvest Barn Dance Saturday October 5, 7.30pm at Agmerhurst Farm.

This year Ashburnham Church are putting on a fundraiser to celebrate Harvest in our villages. Local favourites, Catsfield Steamers, will help all to dosey doe the night away and Pig and Porter will supply the BBQ and bar, ably supported by gastronomical delights from the church community and other locals. The barn will be spick and span and ready for some serious (and not so serious!) dancing. All profits will go to the New Village Hall fund and a large attendance is hoped for. If you are intending to go, then please buy a ticket early. There will be a raffle and if you are able to donate a prize for this then please let Richard and Storm know on the number below.

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday October 10 & 24, 9.50am - 10.10am.

A Quiz Night in aid of the New Village Hall project will be held on October 12, 7.30pm in Ashburnham Village Hall. Tickets are £10 each to include supper and are available by calling 01424 892674. There will also be a bar and raffle.

2m@1 are meeting on October 14, 1pm at Ashburnham Church Hall. This month they will look at ‘Christians Against Poverty’ with Ros Thomas.

The next Village Lunch is on October 16, at Ashburnham Village Hall. Lunch is cooked every month for any older residents in our villages who would like a bit of company and a delicious meal. Ashburnham and Penhurst WI are next meeting on Monday October 21, where they will hold their AGM. This gives an opportunity for the group to report in the past year and elect their committee members for the coming year. Once the business is complete, Gill Ratcliffe will be liven things up with one of her excellent quizzes. All meetings are at 7.30pm in the Village Hall and include refreshments and time for chat. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
