2M@1: 2m@1 are next meeting on Monday, March 9. This month they welcome Judith Kinnison-Bourke with a talk on ‘Lost Ancestors.‘ This promises to be a humorous dip into genealogy. Everyone is welcome to join them.

P.A.N.T.S: P.A.N.T.S. will be holding their AGM on Monday, March 9, 7.30 p.m. at The Ash Tree Inn. This will be change to hear about the past year and to discuss future plans. COFFEE MORNING: The next Coffee Morning is on Monday, March 16 in the Church Hall, Ashburnham Place 10.30 a.m. - 12 p.m. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat.

WI: Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are meeting on Monday, March 16, 7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall. This month they welcome Nigel Lockwood of the local branch of guide Dogs. Nigel will also have a Guide Dog and his owner with him to teach the women more about the work the charity does. No need to book – just go along! Visitors and new members are always welcome.

VILLAGE LUNCH: The next Village Lunch is on March 18, at Ashburnham Village Hall, 12.30 p.m. Lunch is cooked every month for any older residents in the villages who would like a bit of company and a delicious meal. CHAPEL COFFEE MORNING: Ashburnham Chapel are holding a coffee morning on March 23, 10.30 a.m. - 12 p.m. All are welcome to join them.

GARDENING CLUB: Ashburnham and Penhurst Gardening Club are next meeting on March 23, 7.30 p.m. at the Church Hall. Their speaker will be Julia Shaw who will be discussing garden design. As well as bringing her professional expertise, there will be opportunity for discussion. Everyone is welcome. Membership is £20/year.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Tuesday, March 24, 2.40 p.m. - 3 p.m.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on March 25, 6.30 p.m. at the Sports Pavilion. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

BOOK GROUPS: The March book is “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by the wonderful Barbara Kingsolver. This mix of autobiography, journal, food politics and recipes celebrates the pleasures of good food and argues for authenticity in both eating and food production. The afternoon group will meet on March 31, 8 p.m. at Ashburnham Place whilst the evening group will meet on march 27, 2 p.m. If you would like to borrow the book or would like further information about either group, please contact Nicole on 894208 or Nicky on 892474.

SPRING FAIR: Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are holding a Spring Fair on Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Along with refreshments and light lunches, there will be local produce, raffle, cakes ad children’s activities.
