Village Lunch: The next Village Lunch is on October 15 at Ashburnham Village Hall, 12.30 p.m. Lunch is cooked every month for any older residents in the villages who would like a bit of company and a delicious meal. Coffee Morning: The next Coffee Morning is on Monday, October 20 in the Church Hall, Ashburnham Place 10.30 a.m. - 12 p.m. You are welcome to go along for a good friendly chat.

WI: Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are meeting on Monday, October 20, 7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall. This month will be their AGM, followed by one of Gill’s famous quizzes! No need to book – just go along! Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Mobile Library: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday, October 23, 9.50 a.m. - 10.10 a.m.

Chapel Coffee Morning: Ashburnham Chapel are holding a coffee morning on October 27, 10.30 a.m. - 12 p.m. All are welcome to join them.

Afternoon Book Group: The afternoon book group are next meeting October 31, 2pm. October’s book is “The Septembers of Shiraz” by Dalia Sofer. Set in the aftermath of the Iranian revolution, it chronicles the separate attempts of a father, mother, son and daughter to face incalculable dangers and find safety.
