Attackers tip 11-year-old boy out of shopping trolley

Police are investigating after an 11-year-old boy was attacked on his way home in Burgess Hill.

A police spokesman said he was abused, pushed and shoved to the ground, put into a shopping trolley and tipped out after being pushed along for a short distance in St Johns Park between 5pm and 7pm on January 21.

“He suffered cuts and bruises and made his way home, very upset,” said the spokesman.

We have interviewed three suspects, aged 15, 15 and 14, under caution on suspicion of assault, and enquiries are continuing to establish the facts surrounding this unpleasant incident”.
