Auction of Sussex soldier’s First World War medals in Lewes

A Military Medal for bravery won by a Sussex soldier in the First World War is coming under the hammer in Lewes on Tuesday, April 29.

The MM (above left), the other ranks’ equivelant of the Military Cross for officers, was awarded to Pte C. J. Laming, of the Royal Sussex Regiment, in 1916 and will be auctioned by Wallis and Wallis along with his other campaign medals, affectionately known as ‘Pip, Squeak and Wilfred’ – The 1914 Star , British War Medal and Victory Medal respectively.
