Amanda Phelan, senior librarian at Worthing High School, said: “Chris put on a fabulous action packed show and students all had an amazing time. With over 500 students in the audience the atmosphere was brilliant.

Students said it was one of the best author talks they had ever seen and our feeder schools are looking forward to returning for future events. His books are now flying out of the library as our students are so keen to read them.

“Author talks, such as this one, are a great way to encourage young people to read more books and also consider writing stories themselves. Chris definitely inspired our students with his enthusiasm for reading and writing. ”

Bradford’s Young Samurai: The Way of the Warrior was deemed one of Puffin’s 70 Best Ever Books, alongside classics Treasure Island and Robin Hood.
