Westfield Horticultural Society’s Autumn show proved to be a huge success last Saturday with nearly 300 exhibits.

Those who attended the show enjoyed a wonderful display of dahlias, a large quantity of quality fruit and vegetables and some intricate handicraft designs.

Kelvin Lynch, from the Society, said: “What was most pleasing was a large entry in the Floral Art section.

The committee wish to thank all those members and non-members who made the show such a huge success.”

The Banksian Medal for most points in Fruit, Veg and Flowers was won by Mr BJ Hillier and the Autumn Challenge Cup for most points in show went to Margaret Crouch.

In the Junior Section, the Junior Cup for best exhibit was won by Livvy Gibson.

Certificate for most points age 7 and under - Renae Russell; Certificate for most points age 8 to 11 years - Alisha Russell; Certificate for most points age 12 to 16 years - Livvy Gibson and Certificate for most points combined Spring and Autumn - Poppy Stratford.

The Honey Trophy for vase of flowers for bees was won by Mr P West and the Dicker Cup for most points in handicraft classes by Mrs A. Thorne.

Chris Lynch won in the floral art classes.
