NEWHAVEN Community Employment Partnership celebrated ten years of supporting local people to access work, learning and employment with an awards ceremony on Friday September 16.
Partners, local businesses and clients attended the event held at Denton Island Community Centre in Newhaven to celebrate their achievement of assisting more than 6,000 people towards work.
Amongst the winners was Screen Solutions in Peacehaven which received an award for its contribution to corporate social responsibility and the creation of local employment opportunities.
Baroness Stedman-Scott OBE, chief executive of Tomorrow’s People gave a motivational speech praising NCDA as a local charity and recognising its work supporting people with multiple barriers to find jobs.
Sally Evans from Screen Solutions said: “Obviously, we are very proud of this award.
“We have been working alongside NewCEP for over a year now.
“We assist by taking long term unemployed people from NewCEP on work experience for four to six weeks.”
