Baker promotion in Home Office move

Lewes MP Norman Baker has been given a new role and moved across departments to become the Minister of State for Crime Prevention at the Home Office in the latest government reshuffle.

The new role sees him promoted and given new responsibilities including domestic violence, drugs and alcohol policy, and crime strategy.

He said: “In my new role I want to see a more liberal Home Office including making sure we further protect the victims of domestic violence, protecting children from sexual exploitation, tackling forced marriages. We need to make sure that we are helping the most vulnerable in society.”
