BALCOMBE CRAFT, GIFT AND PRODUCE MARKET: The next Market will take place on Saturday 15 September from 10.00 am until 2.00 pm in the Victory Hall, supporting Balcombe School PTA with both the charity table and the refreshments served from the WI Room. It's probably not too early to get ahead of the game and purchase some very early presents because, as ever, there will be some great stalls to peruse and beautiful gifts on offer. As well as the regular Usborne Books and Neal's Yard tables look out for other gifts for the home and garden. Handbags, fashion jewellery, dresses, scarves, hand-made cards, quilted presents, cushions, mirrors, sterling silver jewellery, felt products and hand-made teddies and candles to name a few.

As the weather turns cooler you will all enjoy some more substantial meals so pick up a few pieces from Richard with his sausages and pork products or Luigi with the beautiful pastas, oils etc from Italy. Mary and Robert are back too with their jams/chutneys and Monty Bojangles chocolates respectively. You will also be able to pick up delicious home-made savoury products such as scotch eggs, quiches etc You will be able to sample some of Michelle’s award winning Game On jellies as well. BALCOMBE CLUB: On Saturday 15 September at 7.30 pm the Club are hosting a Race Night – all welcome. On Tuesday 18 September it is Open Mic Night at 8.00 pm. The Kast Off Kinks are performing on Saturday 22 September at 7.00 pm. The band comprises all ex members with the original drummer, Mick Avory. They will be playing all the hits including Lola, Waterloo Sunset, You Really Got Me, and Sunny Afternoon. All here in Balcombe – a concert not to be missed with tickets only £18 available over the bar.

CINEMA: The next film is Mamma Mia in the Victory Hall on Friday 21 September at 7.30 pm.

PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES!: On Sunday 16 September at 4.00 pm in the Victory Hall you will be able to witness how Balcombe was part of World War 1 through 80 minutes of Poetry, Drama and Music using the unique murals in the Victory Hall as inspiration. Join in singing some of the famous songs of the time with contributions from the Victory Players, children from Balcombe School, St Mary’s Choir and St Mary’s Children. Tickets £5.00 Available now from Threads. Proceeds to the Royal British Legion. Refreshments will be provided after the event.

BALCOMBE BOWLS CLUB: On Wednesday 5 September Hawth 71: Balcombe 47. On Saturday 8 September Newick 62: Balcombe 76. On Sunday 9 September players competed in the Anniversary Trophy competition with the winning triples Brian Laker, John Fenton and Peter Green. Next Saturday it is the Club’s Finals Day with a 1.00 pm start.

An EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF BALCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL: will take place on Monday 17 September at 8.00 pm in the PARISH ROOM. This is a meeting to select candidates for the Angus Energy Community Liaison Group in relation to Lower Stumble. The Terms of Reference for this group are on the balcombeparishcouncil.com website. Parish Councillors will select four representatives from the village (with two in reserve) to sit on the Group. All residents should have received a letter inviting them to apply. As yet we have no precise date when flow testing at Lower Stumble will take place.

BALCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL: meet in Regular session on Wednesday 19 September at 8.00 pm in the normal Bramble Hall location.
