BALCOMBE'S NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN: the electorate has decided YES to the question 'Do you want Mid Sussex District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Balcombe to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?' The results of the poll were 376 for and 24 against, 26.9% of the electorate in Balcombe turned out to vote.

The Gardeners’ AUTUMN SHOW: is on Saturday 10 September from 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm in the Victory Hall. Come along to see fabulous flowers, very large vegetables and cool cakes! If you have something to enter in the gardening or cookery classes we would love to hear from you. For further details please see the Year Book. This Autumn the competition cake AKA the Balcombe Bake Off is a Victoria Sponge with the recipe available on page 17 of the Year Book. This year this Class is being sponsored by the Balcombe Tea Rooms who have donated a £10 Tea & Cake voucher for the winner. There are also children’s categories which include for Under 5s a wriggly worm picture or collage: for 5 – 7 years and for 8 – 11 years a plasticine or play dough model of your favourite fruit or a Design for the Gardeners’ Year Book 2017. TIGGERS LATE SUMMER PARTY!: On Saturday 10 September at the Balcombe Cricket Ground join Tiggers for a fabulous evening of dancing and fun to start the new school year in style. They are extremely excited to announce the return of the amazing ‘Superlatives’ band (www.thesuperalativesband.com). Tickets cost £45 which includes the food, drinks (wine, beer and soft drinks), marquee and entertainment. All proceeds will go to Tiggers Preschool. Tickets will be on sale at Balcombe Stores, the Half Moon Pub and by emailing [email protected]

BALCOMBE CLUB: has live music on Saturday 10 September when the Hot Dog Rockers Jive Club will be performing.

ST. CATHERINE’S HOSPICE WALK: is on Sunday 11 September from the Victory Hall starting between 9.00 am and 10.30 am. This popular Balcombe Walk is back and there are plenty of reasons why you should gather friends and family and take part, including: Iconic landmarks like the Ardingly Reservoir and the Viaduct. Free entry and parking for the whole family. Free delicious home-made cakes and refreshments to welcome you back. Four, six, nine and 12.5 mile routes available, with free transport back. You’ll be supporting a local hospice and making a difference to terminally ill people

You will be fully supported on the journey with drink stations and route markers which make the 12 mile walk a relaxing and rewarding exercise. Do sign up at www.stch.org/balcombewalk or turn up on the day to support this worthy cause.
