Band's guitarist hunt

ONE of Worthing's top bands is to hold a series of X-Factor-style auditions in their search for a new guitarist.

The Fused - who won the town's Battle of the Bands competition last year - plan to look at wannabes at a secret location in Littlehampton throughout July.

Drummer Ryan Lee, from Goring, said: "The right person would be a competent guitarist who is at home playing rock, pop and indie. The person will have serious drive and passion. We're basically looking for someone with the X factor. And a guitar."

The lucky winner will feature in several concerts between now and next year, including a support tour with a multi-million selling female artist and a televised gig next January.

Details are being kept strictly under wraps but the success of The Fused over the past year is no secret.

Success in a competition organised by a music website and Dixons led to their debut single being sold on a million mp3 players nationwide.

And the band can claim a celebrity fanbase after television presenter Cat Deeley and Scissor Sisters' frontman Jake Shears were spotted at one of their London gigs.

Auditions will take place every Saturday in July, starting this weekend, and interested parties can book a place by calling 07791 044719.
