Cycle Seahaven will hold a barbecue and bike ride at The Flying Fish in Denton on Saturday August 10 to raise awareness and funds for the Ouse Valley Cycle Network.
The group is campaigning to connect Newhaven, Lewes and the Ouse Valley villages with a network of cycle paths called the Egrets Way.
There will be optional family,intermediate and longer rides starting from 10am from the pub and then returning for a barbecue lunch around 1pm in the lovely gardens behind the pub.
The family ride will be very easy and start at 11am and take in the Ouse Valley Trail to Seaford via the newly constructed cycle lane under Bishopstone Bridge.
The intermediate ride will include the Ouse Estuary Trail,cross the A259 at Bishopstone, go through Poverty Bottom and up to the South Downs Way at Firle Beacon, followed by a descent back to South Heighton.
If numbers permit there will be a longer ride with a more strenuous section of the South Downs Way could be used.
The cost includes a barbecue and bike ride for £12 per head. A child’s portion will be £9.50, while £2.75 of the ticket price will go to OVCN.
