Barnham residents turnout for housing proposals

About 90 people attended the housing proposal roadshow in Barnham.

The Arun District Council mobile unit made its last visit of the consultation period to Barnham railway station.

The turnout took the total number who had gone along to the seven displays in the past six weeks to some 600.

More than 1,000 people have also visited the council's special options for growth website page about the proposals for thousands of homes.

About 250 responses have been received by the council online or by post. A further week is left for more comments to be made. Cllr Gill Brown, Arun's leader, urged people to make use of the remaining days.

"It is vital that as many people as possible let us know where they think major development should take place in Arun over the next 20 years.

"We know these decisions will affect many people across the district so we want to know which option, or combination of options, people would prefer to see implemented," she stated.
