Battle crime round-up

Here is this week's round-up of crimes committed in the Battle area.

TWO motorbikes were stolen from a garage whilst the owner was away on holiday.

Thieves broke into the building in Marley Lane, Battle, by forcing the double garage doors.

Stolen markers have been placed on the grey and black Pitt Thunpstar 120 and Suzuki bikes.

The theft was reported to police on February 10.

THIEVES stole some scrap copper, including a hot water tank, from the back of a trailer left outside a property in Burgh Hill, Etchingham, between 9am on February 10 and 8am the next day.

POLICE are investigating a new wave of graffiti in Battle.

Officers were called by a resident after a tag with the word 'Reaper' was found daubed in spray paint on a garage door in Mount Street.

The vandalism happened some time between 4pm on Saturday February 6 and 9am the next day.

It was the second time the property had been targeted recently.

There have been similar incidents in and around Battle.

Police Community Support Officers are working with local schools and carrying out further enquiries.
