Lewes Stop the Cuts has launched a ‘Love Your Bus’ campaign.

It’s in response to proposed bus cuts in East Sussex which the non party political group says will involve fare increases of 30 per cent and many communities losing their regular bus services.

A spokesman said: “We are just beginning to plan the fightback. We have contacted parish councils, voluntary organisations and trade unions throughout the county alerting them to what is going on.

“We have created a number of leaflets and flyers publicising the campaign and we are organising a public meeting on September 11 [7-8pm] at the Westgate Chapel, 92a High Street, Lewes.”

Lewes Stop the Cuts has more than 450 supporters. Details of the campaign are at
