THE BATTLE of Britain will be commemorated on September 18 in Seaford by the Seahaven branch of RAFA.

This will be the 71st parade and church service to take place.

It is held every year but also remembers all those airmen and airwomen who served in the Royal Air Force and Air Forces of the Commonwealth.

The mayors Seaford, Peacehaven and the chair of Lewes District Council will be attending.

Other RAFA branches, Royal British Legion and 1218 Newhaven Squadron air cadets plan to particpate too.

The parade will commence at Seaford War Memorial at 2.15pm then make its way to St Leonard’s Church.

A Lancaster plane will fly by between 2.15pm and 3pm.

Organiser squadron leader Peter Bonfield said: “All are welcome please come along to support this important event.”
