Battle teenager dies in Northiam crash

Police were called to the B2165 at Northiam shortly after 10.45pm on Tuesday (August 2).

A Ford Ka had come off the road and overturned.

Sadly the driver, a 19-year-old woman from Battle, had sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed between Watt’s Palace Lane and the A28 Hastings Road while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.

The road was re-opened to traffic at 3am.

The East Sussex coroner has been informed.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
