Battle’s best blooms
THE picturesque Almonry Gardens once again provided the perfect setting for the annual Battle In Bloom Awards.
After 12 months of hard work keeping allotments, gardens and floral displays in shape, the green-fingered were rewarded for their horticultural efforts with a series of trophies and plaques.
Meanwhile, the winners of the Battle Scarecrow Festival, which saw an array of mythical beasts and creatures dotted around the town in July, were also revealed.
