Be on your guard against bogus callers, police warn

POLICE issued a warning to householders to be on their guard against bogus callers after a man door-stepped addresses in three roads, pressuring residents to sell their antiques.

Inspector James Scott said the same caller knocked on doors in Chelsea Close, Hillcrest Avenue and Ward Way last Wednesday.

In a message to householders, he said: "Police advise that if you are not expecting anyone don't let anyone into the house without asking for their identification. If you are in doubt, phone the police straight away."
