Beach decking gets thumbs-up

Decking on Bognor Regis beach to enable events to take place on the shingle has been approved.

The 5.7m by 5.6m wooden area will also allow disabled people to get closer to the sea.

Its foundations have been laid by Bognor Regis Town Council opposite the Mountbatten Court flats.

Arun District Council gave planning permission for the decking to go in. Its members considered the 50m between the area and the nearest properties made it unlikely any disturbances would be caused.
