Sunday 22nd December from 3.00 -7.30 pm at the Rose and Crown Beckley, the Rock Shack present ‘Rock Shack’s Christmas Presents’. This will be a seasonal feast of music hosted by Beckley’s own band The Rock Shack. Invited guest performers include Phil Trainor, the famous Irish troubadour; The Bling Crosbies, with their legendary songs and glamorous presentation; all the way from Kent ‘Rattle The Boards Ceilidh Band; ‘Mockingjay’ that very popular young duo; plus some even newer talent ‘The Local Lads’. There is no admission charge as this is the band’s Christmas gift to Beckley village but there will be a raffle in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. This promises to be a great afternoon and likely to be very popular – NOT to be missed!

“Here to help” are in the need of volunteers in the Beckley area as there is only one volunteer who is now getting very busy. They help Elderly and young people when they first come out of hospital. It might be offering transport to the doctor or hospital, even doing a little shopping or helping to cook a meal. Date of the next Parish Council meeting: Wednesday 8th January 2013 at 7.30pm in the room above the village hall. It will be a busy evening with the latest update on the 30mph through the village, planning and varies other village going ons. All welcome to have your say in the open part of the meeting from 730pm.

People are still parking their cars and work vans on the pavements in Beckley main street, please be aware that the local police are aware of this problem. Just take a minute to check if you have left enough room for a mother and push chair to get through! They shouldn’t have to go on the main road to pass your car or work men’s van.

Buzzy Bees baby and toddler group has finished for the Christmas and New Year break. It will return on Wednesday 8th January 2014 from 9.15 to 11.15am at Beckley Village Centre. Session cost just £2. They are very friendly; have even got fantastic reviews on the Netmums website.

If you have a dog DONT let it do its business on the playing fields and pavements in Beckley. There are dog fouling bins in the village so use them. If you see any owners not picking up their dogs mess, they can be reported with £75 find.
