Changes to Bus and Community Transport Services in Rother District and Hastings Borough. East Sussex County Council funded RIDER services. Rider service 361 Playden – Rye Foreign – Peasmarsh – Beckley – Northiam – Horns Cross – Broad Oak – Brede – Westfield - – St Leonards, Sedlescombe Road North – Silverhill – The Green – Filsham Road - Bulverhythe – Glyne Gap – Bexhill College

Operated by Rambler Coaches

These services provided one return journey each on days Bexhill College was open. Use of the services had declined and, following consultation with Bexhill College, service 362 was withdrawn and the routes of the 360 and 361 amended. The revised routes commenced operation on 16 April 2012.

The revised routes are as follows:

360 – as previously to Vinehall (although omitting Mountfield), B2089, Cripp’s Corner, then as the former 362 to the Hastings Borough boundary, before continuing via the former 361 route through St Leonards and on to the College.

361 – Starting at Peasmarsh and following its former route to the Hastings Borough boundary, then via the former 362 route through St Leonards and on to the College.

The new routes reflect the use being made of the services. There were no passengers using the services from the areas of Rother where they have been withdrawn, apart from one student for which an alternative travel arrangement has been made. In some cases there are more direct bus and rail services available. Very small numbers of students travelled from the areas of Hastings previously served by the 360 but there are alternative Stagecoach services available between Hastings and Bexhill, supplemented by the network of local services in Hastings.

As well as achieving a saving by better matching the routes to the demand for travel to/from the College, streamlining the routes has reduced the journey times for many students in rural Rother, in some cases by nearly forty minutes per day. If you require any further information please contact the Passenger Transport Services team on 01273 335080.

Beckley School Association Needs You! What’s it all about?

The BSA raises money for Beckley School.

The school then uses this money to buy resources. We do this to improve our children’s experience in school, to enrich their education.

We also have a giggle and make a few friends along the way.

How do we do this?

Messy Church brings adults and children together where they experience a fun-filled Christian community outside Sunday worship. It is for all ages and an adult must bring a child or vice versa! Each meeting is themed, has a creative messy activity, sing song and ends with a shared meal. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 4pm at Udimore Community Hall next to St Mary’s Church. Future planned themes include:
