Beer festival launches at Horsham pub

More than 4,000 pints of ale will be pulled at The Lynd Cross in Horsham during a 19-day beer festival.

Beer enthusiasts can enjoy a range of 50 real ales from the UK and overseas at the town centre pub.

“It’s about getting the people of Horsham to open up their taste buds and try something new,” said manager Nic Wylie.

The 28-year-old said beers have been sourced from brewers in New Zealand, Greece, Russia, Canada, USA, Netherlands and Czech Republic.

The festival runs from Wednesday April 3 until Sunday April 21 inclusive, with all beers priced at £2.29 a pint.

It features new, seasonal and speciality beers, including a passion fruit beer, coffee and chocolate bean beer, wheat beer, blackberry porter, cask lager and a coffee porter.

The overseas beers on sale are: Pacific Pearl (Good George Brewery, New Zealand); Red Racer (Central City Brewing Company, Canada); Ionian Coffee Porter (Corfu Brewing Company, Greece); Twilight (Deshutes Brewery, USA); Siberian Red (Vasileostrovsky Brewery, Russia); Vivat Bohemia (Pivovar Kocovnik Brewery, Czech Republic); Fly By Night (Lodewijk Swinkels from La Trappe Brewery, Netherlands) and American Amber (Devils Back Bone Brewery, USA).

The UK beers include: Willy Nilly (Brains); Pursuit of Hoppyness (Rudgate); Cereal Thriller (Banks’s); Budding Beauty (Arundel); Tasmanian Wolf (Wolf); Amber Rambler (Moorhouse’s); Daniel’s Hammer (Thwaites) and Continental Drift (Celt Experience).

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third of a pint glasses for the price of a pint.
