Bench tribute to murdered vicar

THE GOD-DAUGHTER of murdered vicar Ronald Glazebrook has put a bench in the gardens where he used to walk his dog.

Susan Pickering, 51, was adopted by Rev Glazebrook and lived with him at his Dane Road home for 25 years. She visited St Leonards on Tuesday to put the bench in Markwick Gardens where she walked with him.

Susan, who now lives in Saxmundham, Suffolk, said: "I have fond memories. He was a good and benevolent father to me and I hope everybody uses the bench and thinks of him."

Rev Glazebrook was murdered by Christopher Hunnisett in April 2001. The schoolboy drowned the vicar in his Dane Road home then hacked up the body with a saw and axe. He buried the body parts in woodland at the back of Summerfields Sports Centre and off the marsh road at Pevensey. He is currently spending 11 years in prison for the murder.
