STAFF and students at Seaford Head Community College were delighted with the best set of GCSE results ever.
More than 85 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSE grades A*-C, an increase of more than five per cent on last year.
Of these 64 per cent achieved five or more GCSE grades A*-C including English language and maths, an increase from last year of more than seven per cent making this the sixth consecutive year on year increase in exam results.
More than 95 per cent of students achieved at least 1 A*-C grade.
The school exceeded challenging targets for progress in both English and Maths putting the school in the top ten per cent of similar schools nationwide.
Outstanding results were achieved by many individual students but particular congratulations went to those who were awarded 12 or more A* -A grades; Ben Alexander, Ellie Homan, Clare Gaffney and Carla Pullinger.
In addition ten Year 11 students achieved an AS grade in art and design.
From other year groups Jaikishan Rajput in Year 10 celebrated A grades in both AS maths modules and Olivia Byrne in Year 8 was awarded 100 per cent in GCSE Spanish making her one of the highest achieving language students in the country.
Exceptional results were achieved in biology with 100 per cent of students gaining an A*-C with 80 per cent of students achieving an A* or an A.
In other popular subjects; chemistry, physics, drama and media studies more than 90 per cent of students achieved an A*-C grade.
