Ten of the very best street food vendors from across the county will converge in Cliffe High Street this weekend.
The traders will be competing in the first ever Sussex Street Food of the Year competition, running as part of the Sussex Food and Drink Awards’ tenth anniversary celebrations.
Entrance is free and organisers are urging people to come along on Sunday, October 25 (11am-4pm) and enjoy a wide variety of award-winning produce, a local beer bar and live music during their lunch.
Paula Seager, co-director of Natural Partnerships CIC which runs the awards, said: “The hugely successful Lewes Octoberfeast may have finished, but that doesn’t mean the foodie fun is over.
“Please bring along your winter appetites and tell us your favourite – the public vote will count on the day.”
MasterChef: The Professionals winner Steven Edwards will lead the judging alongside sponsors Hepworth & Co Brewers and Food Rocks, as well as leading food writer Andy Lynes. Finalists involved in this event include The Little Blue Smokehouse from Crowborough and The Pig and Jacket from Lewes.
The three Grand Finalists will be announced on the day and all will be invited to the tenth birthday Sussex Food and Drink Awards Banquet on January 28, hosted by patron to the awards, Sally Gunnell OBE and Danny Pike from BBC Radio Sussex.
Tickets are on sale for this awards ceremony which includes a seven-course Sussex produce banquet at the Amex Stadium. Visit www.sussexfoodawards.biz for details.
