BEXHILL'S Beulah Baptist church was recently transformed into a fish and chip shop as part of it's annual Holiday Club activities.

Following on from the recent success of the church's carnival float, promoting the Holiday Club, 'Rocky's Plaice' fish n' chips saw 85 eager children aged between 4 '“ 11 arriving each day for a great time of games, songs, drama and Bible stories.

Rev Graham Holliday explained what was behind the name 'Rocky's Plaice':

"The theme of the Holiday Club was based on the life of the Apostle Peter. He was a fisherman whose name means 'rock'.

"Following Peter's declaration of faith, Jesus said to him, 'You are 'rock' and upon this rock I will build my church'."

A special family Holiday Club Service took place at the church on Sunday August 15.

This week the Holiday Club catered for a different age group as the church provided 'Holiday at Home', a weekly programme for the elderly.
