Lauren Douglin, 26, who attended St Richard’s Catholic College, plays Izzy in The Five, which started airing on Sky 1 on Friday (April 15).

The series follows four people who are haunted by the disappearance of their friend Jesse, who vanished when they were children.

However, they are brought back together 20 years later when Jesse’s DNA is found at a crime scene and they have to determine whether he is alive or not.

The Five was created by bestselling US author Harlan Coben.

Lauren said her experience in filming and starring in the show was ‘absolutely incredible’.

She added: “It was fantastic and it’s incredible that my first acting job was with a great team. The whole cast and crew were great.

“The support I’ve had from everyone has been so lovely. My teacher from primary school even sent me a message of support on Facebook.”

It was in March last year Lauren received a call from the producers of The Five to go to Liverpool for filming.

She spent five weeks there as the series was made.

Lauren said: “I play Izzy and she is very much different to what I’m like. I write a positive living blog and have volunteered for the cancer charity, CLIC Sargent. But Izzy in The Five is the complete opposite.

“Each episode of The Five ends with lots of questions and I will be starring in both episodes this coming week.”

Lauren’s interest in the performing arts started when she was a child, having attended East Sussex School of Performing Arts from the age of seven to 18.

She said: “Principals Teena Symonds and Kym Giggins were a great inspiration to me and I had so much fun.”

Lauren, who now lives in Sydenham in London, gained a degree in musical theatre from the University of Brighton but specialised in acting.

The Five airs on Sky 1 on Friday (April 22) at 9pm.
