Bexhill Carnival fun

SUMMER arrived just in the nick of time for Bexhill to enjoy its carnival parade in warm sunshine.

The week long party, aptly themed 'celebration', concluded with a procession of over 40 floats on Saturday afternoon.

The hundreds who attended the Party in the Polegrove the previous night weren't quite so lucky with the weather but enjoyed the fun fair and live music despite regular downpours.

On a brighter Saturday lunch time, 42 entries formed up in Turkey Road.

The Eastbourne Scottish Pipe Band led the procession, followed by the Bexhill Carnival Court of Chimene Carrick, Kerry Gunningham, Nicola Wadey, Charlotte Spinks and Rebekah Herring.

The Bexhill 100 Motoring Club had perhaps the most imaginative entry on the day with their take on recycling.

The group had created a vehicle to run entirely on wind power - the kind of strong gusts created by man rather than those found on weather reports.
