St Mary’s School and Sixth Form College, in Wrestwood Road, Bexhill, teamed up with the charity before the Easter holidays for a Bike It day.

Lucy and Ruth from Sustrans visited St Mary’s with bicycles and each student was given the chance to ride around the playground.

The staff took their bikes along too to join in on the fun.

Lucy also took along special bicycles adapted for pupils with mobility problems so they could take part in the event as well.

“The weather was nice and sunny which allowed everyone to enjoy the day,” said Wendy Maylam from St Mary’s.

Lucy and Ruth will return to the school sometime in the future with a mechanic who will teach the children how to take care of and repair their bicycles.
