Bexhill College performance for National Theatre

Bexhill College drama students have been given the chance to work with some of the country's top writing talent when they perform a new play for the National Theatre.

Playwrights from around the country queue up to write for New Connections, commissioned by the National theatre, which makes it a great advertisement for theatre, young people and their teachers.

The College will be performing Dirty Dirty Princess by Georgia Fitch at the Chichester Festival Theatre on March 21.

The play focuses on 13 year old Stacey, who has a secret. It is essentially a play about the consequences of silence and jealousy.

A series of vivid, yet subtly characterised, scenes reveal how frightening it can be for a girl growing up into a world, where boys seem obsessed with her sexuality rather than her personality.

The action focuses on her refusal to surrender to disillusionment, as shetries to find her own way between the certainties of born-again Christianity and her family's empty materialism.

The College will be previewing the show at the College on March 11, 12 and 13 at 7.30pm each night. Admission is free. For further details contact Chris King on 01424 214545 ext 186
