Bexhill gardens open up for the hospice

GARDENERS saw their hard work pay dividends when supporters of St Michael's Hospice raised more than £2,000 at an open garden day.

Houses in Pinewoods, Barnhorn Road, Winston Drive, Collington Lane East, Thornbank Crescent and Cranston Avenue all opened their doors on Tuesday as part of one of the biggest fundraising drives for the St Leonards-based charity.

Suzanne Salmon, fundraiser for the hospice, said: "Despite the dismal weather, we raised 2,660.89 from the gardens."
