Officers are still trying to trace the driver of the Renault 19, registration J592GGU, which failed to stop after hitting Mr Finch as he walked with two friends.

Senior Investigating Officer Inspector Mark Armstrong said: "We would very much like to hear from these people. None of them are suspects but they are known to have been in the road at the time and may have seen a silver or grey car.

"We also still urge the driver of the car to come forward and tell us what happened and help clear the matter up."

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
