BID TO CLEAN UP THREE TOWNS

A DISTRICT-WIDE project to tackle environmental crime is due to be launched in Peacehaven, Telscombe and East Saltdean today (Friday).

Clean Streets is a partnership of local organisations working together to brighten up and improve the cleanliness of the towns. It includes the district and town councils, police, local residents' groups and the Lewes District Crime Reduction Partnership.

Action planned over the coming months includes new litter bins, tackling areas that attract litter and rubbish, giving a higher profile to anti-dog fouling and littering, enhanced clean ups and raising awareness of keeping the three towns clean and tidy.
