Marine Court, in Fitzalan Road, is the flagship injury treatment centre for the Fire Fighters Charity.

And last week it became the focal point for the national charity’s big birthday bash.

Firefighters from the town’s fire station turned up in style to mark the occasion, arriving suited and booted in one of the station’s fire engines.

Alongside the team from Littlehampton celebrating the organisation’s achievements were a number of high-ranking officials in the fire and rescue service from across the country, patients and supporters of the charity.

They all enjoyed a slice of birthday cake to mark the day.

David Batchelor, hospitality team leader at Marine Court, said: “Marine Court has been pivotal in the success of the Fire Fighters Charity as it was the first centre of its kind and has recently undergone a major addition in the expansion of services with its new rehab unit.”

The Fire Fighters Charity was founded on August 17, 1943.
