Big range of roles for Littlehampton's volunteering hopefuls

Volunteer Now! the area’s main volunteer recruitment organisation, has released its list of the week’s latest roles for prospective helpers in the Gazette area.

Among the opportunities includes a chance to work alongside Impact Initiative, as disability advocates.

The charity, which runs across Sussex and has a base at Dove Lodge, in Beach Road, Littlehampton, helps adults with learning disabilities, physical and/or sensory impairment or an acquired brain injury.

The advocates are needed to provide support on a variety of issues, from helping people with disabilities to understand their rights and making informed choices to having their views and wishes communicated to others. Good communication skills are needed.

Other volunteer roles in the Gazette area this week include the chance to become an educational guide with the RNLI.

The charity is looking for guides to raise awareness of its work and to communicate sea safety messages to young people through visits to lifeboat stations.

Volunteers could also help to hold talks to children, schools and youth groups.

Full training, resources and expenses would be offered. Volunteer hours are flexible and designed to suit individual needs.

An assistant is needed to lend a helping hand to the Link to Hope charity shop in Rustington.

The charity, which helps rebuilds lives and communities in eastern Europe through social care and education projects, is looking for more people to work as part of a warm and welcoming team.

Roles could see assistants helping to lay out shop displays, organising stock or talking to customers.

Bognor Regis Children and Family Centres is appealing for more support from Gazette readers keen to volunteer.

Additional people are needed at village children and family centres across the Arun district.

The centres are a ‘one stop shop’ where families with children under five can access a range of services, from information and advice, play groups, toys and variety of health services. Individuals are needed to become parent volunteers who could share their skills to others.
