Bill bows out after 43 years' service to Arundel

An Arundel man with an impressive record of public service has retired after 43 years as a councillor in the town.

William Jupp Richmond (86) known to everyone as Bill, was Mayor of Arundel nine times and in recognition of his service was awarded the Freedom of Arundel.

In addition, to mark his service to Arun District vCouncil for 12 years, culminating with his chairmanship there in 1995, he was made an honorary alderman.
