It has submitted a planning application to repair and refurbish the railway station’s footbridge to Horsham District Council, as some of the steel elements are corroded, the paint protection has broken down, and some of the timber boards and treads are rotten.

Network Rail is proposing to replace the timber with Glass Reinforced Plastic, repair and strengthen the steelwork, and provide new paint and protective coating systems.
