Billingshurst students and MP visit Auschwitz

TWO sixthformers from Weald School, Billingshurst have returned from a visit to Auschwitze Birkenau, vowing to act on lessons learned from their experience.

Henry Powell and Anna Batten were among 200 sixthformers from South East England on a visit organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust, and they were joined there by Horsham MP Francis Maude.

They said the visit was a unique opportunity to see what happened at Auschwitz-Birkenau, to pay respect to those who lost their lives, and to explore the universal lessons of the Holocaust.
