Bin fires, barbecues and a trapped seagull keep firefighters busy

Last night (July 17), East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to a barbecue fire on Bellingham Crescent, Hove at 8.18pm.

Then there was a call out at 8.37pm to a bin fire on Kings Road Arches.

And at 9.27pm Hove firefighters attended a fire in the open on Grand Avenue, Hove.

It was equally busy for fire crews over the weekend, when Roedean firefighters attended a blaze in the open on Bazehill Road, Rottingdean, on Saturday (July 14) at 8.30am.

Brighton and Hove fire crews were called to the Devils Dyke slip road on the A27 to a fire in the open at 12.57pm.

At 7.26pm there was a call out to a bin fire on Kingway Hove, and at 7.50pm there was another bin blaze at Highcroft Villas, Brighton.

At 11.22pm, Brighton firefighters attended a shed fire on St Lukes Terrace, Brighton.

And on Sunday (July 15), Hove firefighters attended a fire in the open on Goldstone Crescent, Hove at 6.27pm.

But at 9pm on Sunday, there was something a bit different.

Firefighters from Hove and Brighton attended a residential property on the Drive, Hove, following reports of a seagull trapped on a roof.

Happily, the seagull was released.
