BIN IT WARNING

LEWES District Council is asking pet owners to clean up after their dogs on the riverside walk adjacent to the Lewes Road recreation ground in Newhaven.

The tarmac pathway has been heavily fouled, even though a dog bin is provided. The council is reminding people to make use of the bin.

Failure to clean up can incur fines of up to 1,000.

It is an offence for owners not to clean up after their dogs on pavements, roads and alleyways, playing fields, parks, recreation grounds and play areas, promenades, grass verges and grassed areas in residential locations.
