The event was switched from its home of the past 29 years on Bognor Pier after the structure was shortened for safety reasons in April.

This cast doubts about whether the new perch for the competitors gave them enough water in which to jump without injury.

The Worthing event follows the pattern of recent years in Bognor with serious flyers in the Leonardo da Vinci and Condor classes and fun flyers in the Kingfisher category.
